The Work
The work described in these case studies was for enterprise clients of varying sizes, including startups. The projects involved substantial investments of human and/or financial resources. The systems involved were typically mission-critical, real-time, transaction-processing environments. In some cases the project involved the development of new systems intended to allow the client to expand its business into new areas.
My Role
My role in most of the projects usually began as a technical architect on the project team. My role often shifted as the project unfolded and the design challenges became more apparent. Because my skills include the ability to transform business requirements into system and technical requirements, I was called upon to develop sizing and costing models to enable clients to understand costs over time and develop appropriate budgets.
About The Case Studies
Each case study is a brief description of an interesting aspect of a particular project. Each identifies my role, briefly states the scenario, explains how I contributed to the solution, and describes the outcome. Where possible, one of the documents I created is provided as an example of my work on the project. The documents have been "sanitized" to protect the confidentiality of my clients; they are nonetheless accurate representations of my work.
