Postage, Version 2012
For the past couple of years the Postal service did not offer a rational solution for sending light mail with stamps. This year, it looks like that has changed.

Hosting Recommendations
I've balked at writing an article like this because there is a certain amount of subjectivity involved. So yes, it's a review, but no, it's not entirely objective. Use at your own risk.
I hope it helps.

Web Assets
I recently helped one of my clients transfer their Web site to another party who bought the business. It's the first time I'd ever done this. I was caught off guard.

Remembering my Birthday
Today is my birthday. As I get older, it's a fact that is harder to remember.
Luckily, I have participated in dozens of discussion forums and bulletin boards over the years. Almost all of these have a feature that sends an automated greeting on its users' birthdays. I've received a bunch already and the day is young.
Now all I have to do is remember to pay the Internet bill and I'll never have to remember my birthday.

The Archive Problem
Do you have photographs handed down from generation to generation? My family does, and some of them are 100 years old. How about documents on paper such as letters; wills, deeds, birth certificates or other legal material; books (like family Bibles); or other memorabilia? So do I.
Will your digital data make it that long?

Updating My Site
A few days ago I updated my site to HTML 5 and got a surprise when Expression Web helped me convert to Matthew James Taylor's great CSS layout.
